The transformation of the energy system is gaining momentum due to innovations in mobility. The electrification of transport, development of charging infrastructure, and integration with renewable energy sources are just some of the aspects shaping the new energy reality.
Electric vehicles can play a significant role in both the transformation of the transport sector and the electricity sector. Experts estimate that the increase in the number of electric vehicles on the roads by 2050 will create a demand for electricity amounting to 12% to 14% of global energy consumption. This necessitates the modernization of Poland’s electricity grids, which, according to a report by the Supreme Audit Office (NIK), are outdated (over half of Poland’s power lines are more than 30 years old).
The transformation of the energy system in response to the development of new mobility is crucial for ensuring sustainable development and energy efficiency. The changing needs related to charging electric vehicles, integration of renewable energy sources, and new technologies require a well-thought-out strategy to seamlessly incorporate mobility innovations into energy structures.
Investments dedicated to new mobility can contribute to improving the quality of local electricity networks in areas where new charging points will be established, bringing a range of benefits to local communities.
Panel participants will discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating new mobility with energy systems. The discussion aims to exchange knowledge, experiences, and insights, as well as inspire participants to actively engage in the energy transformation.
